This makes 2 gallon jars full. The recipe stores well in a sealed glass jar.
Start by melting 2 sticks of organic butter. To the warm butter add 12 ounces organic brown rice syrup. Now add 3 pounds of old fashioned or steel cut oatmeal. If you are strictly following proper food combining, this is all you add before cooking. If not add about 1 pound of raw chopped nuts. I like slivered almonds, but you can mix in whatever kind you like.
Bake on 2 ungreased cookie sheets at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until the edges of the granola just start to brown. Remove it from the oven. If you like dried fruit this is the time to add it. ½ pound of each of ground dates and raisins are good. When cool, store in tightly closed containers in a cupboard, if it lasts that long.
